Broadcast Engineers and Maintenance Personnel

OMNITEC Solutions, Inc., (www.omnitecinc.com) is anticipating the expansion of current work efforts for the Federal government in the Washington, DC and Riverside, CA areas and is actively seeking qualified broadcast and audio-visual engineers and technicians. The efforts include maintaining existing broadcast systems and engineering new system upgrades at the Defense Media Activity – Riverside , CA , the Pentagon Channel facility in Alexandria , Virginia , the Pentagon, a new broadcast facility at Ft. Meade , Maryland , and potentially the Defense Information School (DINFOS) also located at Fort Meade , Maryland .

Existing systems are analog, digital, and there are planned future upgrades to HD. Systems include those for radio and television broadcasting, post-production, satellite operations, master control, network operations, and television studios and audio booths. There is extensive use of AVID integrated news systems including AVID Isis , Apple Final Cut, and Sundance automation. We are also looking for training personnel to provide training in broadcast operations and maintenance to military personnel. Maintenance efforts include equipment installation, bench repair and test, system corrective and periodic maintenance, and continuous performance monitoring. Engineering efforts include evaluating emerging technologies, recommending system and equipment upgrades, designing new systems, field and studio production technical support, and assisting in the completion of the conversion from legacy analog systems.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Candidates must speak and write good English, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work as a team member is essential. Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a background check and/or obtain a security clearance.

Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience in radio and television broadcast engineering or maintenance. Technical school diplomas or certificates, and vendor/manufacturer training course completion are desirable. Prior military broadcast operations and maintenance training and experience is highly preferred. Candidates with a combination of broadcast and IT backgrounds, and certification by the Society of Broadcast Engineers as a Broadcast Engineer, Senior Broadcast Engineer and/or Broadcast Network Technologist are highly desirable. Certifications in AVID training including AVID Certified Support Representative (ACRS) are also highly desirable.
